With over 17 years of industry experience working for large companies such as Lumino, Dr Alejandro Aubane (Alex) was ready to start his own dental business. After looking all over Auckland for a place to settle with his family, he chose the semi-rural Huapai/Kumeū area of West Auckland to live and work in. This prosperous, wine-making community, was recognised as having a lot of potential and the chosen site was nestled amongst other shops, providing ample car parking for patients.

He enlisted Dentec for a full design and fitout solution for the new 85m², 2-chair practice. Adent Dental opened in January 2017 and the team has since successfully been providing dental services for those living in the Kumeū area. Alex treats his patients like friends and family, focusing on conservative dentistry that helps them maintain their teeth for life.

Alex and the team focus on risk assessment, long-term planning, and minimal intervention to preserve patients' smiles over a lifetime. They pride themselves on their modern approach to dental care, providing attentive, detail-orientated care in a friendly, calm, and tranquil atmosphere. Therefore it's important that their dental practice reflected these values by providing a patient-focused, welcoming, and peaceful environment. To help achieve this, warm, inviting aesthetics would be needed and it was requested that natural light be maximised in the design.

Alex had a specific vision for the practice and wanted to be very involved with the process to ensure the final result met his high standards of design, workmanship, and innovation. Being his first clinic, the budget was also quite limited. Therefore he requested that Dentec find efficient areas to add value, without compromising the practice's quality and aesthetics.

The design of Adent Dental reflects Alex's passion for quality dental service and industry advancements and was fitted out with the latest in modern technology. A large screen was installed in the treatment rooms so that he can use a special camera inside a patient's mouth and present the results to them on screen. This helps him carefully explain their dental requirements and creates a unique point of difference for the clinic.

As requested, natural light was maximised throughout the north-facing, ground-floor clinic. The main surgery room was strategically located against the front window and the use of a large window in the reception area meant ample light flooded into the second surgery room too. Opaque glass was used to ensure that the windows allow for light to enter but also provide privacy for patients.

The fitout of Adent Dental used wood-look products and neutral tones to create a calming, inviting space for patients. Dentec also proudly completed this aesthetically pleasing practice on a record low budget. The team minimised construction costs where possible including reusing existing partitions.

Alex was involved with Dentec at every step of the process and his high standards are reflected in the modern, light, and welcoming practice. His patients also seem pleased with the results, leaving Adent Dental glowing reviews!
