The main challenge was the remote clinic location in the heart of winter. This posed expensive labour costs and travel costs for everyone involved.

Significant site amendments were required and progress depended on the completion of the existing base build before our work could commence. With our clients based in Melbourne, we also needed to manage most of the project remotely while keeping them updated throughout.

Being a specialist practice, our clients also needed a microscope installed in one of the surgeries. This required careful consideration to reduce vibrations from the building to the microscope itself.

Our clients had several sites to choose from, narrowing it down to one in Wānaka and one in Queenstown. When they came over to view them, they signed the lease for the Wānaka site.

At the beginning of the fitout, we ensured there were structural beams and allowance for service lines under the floor. We also worked closely with Catanni on the design to make sure the clinic’s infrastructure was optimised for a range of dental equipment.

To minimise project costs, our trades team worked on the fitout instead of contracting to third parties in Auckland.

As the client was based in Australia, our project management software was invaluable, providing weekly updates on what was upcoming. This also provided clear timelines for invoicing and other key deadlines. This transparency enabled us to support them all the way, providing peace of mind on all aspects of the fitout.
